The OnePlus 10 Pro is the company’s newest flagship phone. It has a 6.67 inch screen with a 93% screen-to-body ratio that is designed to provide an immersive viewing experience. The bezel-less display is protected by gorilla glass 6 and the body is made of glass on both sides for wireless charging. One major downside of this phone, however, is its price point. The OnePlus 10 Pro starts at $669, which is significantly more expensive than last year’s model. Is it worth upgrading from the OnePlus 9 Pro? Let's find out!
Introduction
It’s time to upgrade!
The OnePlus 10 Pro is officially out and it’s a great update
from the OnePlus 9 Pro. The update is based on the same design as the OnePlus 9
Pro, but there are a few key changes that make it worth upgrading from the
OnePlus 9 Pro.
For starters, the OnePlus 10 Pro has a better display with a
93% screen-to-body ratio. This means that you can watch your favorite shows
without having to worry about a thick bezel getting in the way of your viewing
experience. There’s also a new 20 megapixel front-facing camera that supports
autofocus and a 16 megapixel rear camera with a 1.6x optical zoom. And if those
updates weren’t enough, the OnePlus 10 Pro is now water resistant.
Bottom line, if you have an OnePlus 9 Pro, it might be worth upgrading to the OnePlus 10 Pro.
Camera and Design
The OnePlus 10 Pro has a triple camera set up on the back
and a periscope on the front that enhances face scanning technology. The camera
is capable of taking photos in low light and has a 48 megapixel resolution with
a f/1.7 aperture.
The phone’s design is similar to last year’s model, but the
10 is noticeably larger with a 6.67 inch screen as opposed to the 9 Pro’s 6.41
inch screen. The 10 Pro also has a glass body on both sides, which allows it to
be used with wireless chargers.
Overall, the OnePlus 10 Pro is an improvement over last
year’s model. The camera is better and it has an edge-to-edge display. However,
there are some tradeoffs. The screen doesn’t have the same clarity as the 9 Pro
and it is more expensive. This may not be worth your money unless you
absolutely need the latest and greatest in mobile technology.
Software and Performance
While the OnePlus 10 Pro has a price point that is
significantly higher than last year’s model, it has many features that make it
worth the upgrade. For example, the OnePlus 10 Pro is equipped with a QHD+
AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip. These features provide a
smooth and immersive viewing experience that you will not be able to find on
last year’s OnePlus 9 Pro.
Another feature that sets the OnePlus 10 Pro apart from the
OnePlus 9 Pro is its camera. The OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a 16MP front-facing
camera and a triple rear camera set up with a 48MP sensor, 16MP ultrawide
sensor, and a super wide-angle lens. The rear cameras also come with features
like 3D photo capture, which takes a photo of a person and expands it to take
up the entire screen, allowing you to view them from all angles.
The OnePlus 10 Pro also includes a sliding mechanism that
allows you to easily use your phone. This design also includes a pop-up selfie
camera that rotates from the bottom of the phone when you need to take a
picture.
In addition to its great design, the OnePlus 10 Pro is very
fast. In fact, it
Camera Review
One of the major downsides of the OnePlus 10 Pro is its
price point. The OnePlus 10 Pro starts at $669, which is significantly more
expensive than last year’s model. The OnePlus 9 Pro, for instance, starts at
$549 and comes with a similar amount of storage, a bigger display and better
performance.
When I compared the two phones, I noticed that the camera on
the OnePlus 10 Pro was surprisingly worse than that of the 9 Pro. It is
noticeably less sharp and the colors are more saturated. One major downside of
the camera is that it's missing a spot for a secondary lens like it's
predecessor. Instead, you can use a new feature called 3D depth sensing which
helps create better portrait shots.
However, despite its lower quality camera, the OnePlus 10
Pro does have faster wireless charging and a faster and smoother software. For
these reasons and others (such as its new glass design) it does seem like an
upgrade from the OnePlus 9 Pro even if you're paying an extra $120.
Design Review
The design of the OnePlus 10 Pro is much sleeker than its
predecessor, the OnePlus 9 Pro. The 10 Pro has a frosted glass back and a
volume of buttons on the left side. The camera on the rear of the 10 Pro is
slightly raised, which takes away from the sleekness of the phone. However,
this model does have a bezel-less display, which is perfect for watching videos
or playing games.
As of now, the OnePlus 10 Pro is not available in any other
color than Mirror Gray. The lack of color options may deter some customers, but
the Mirror Gray does look good with the blue hue that radiates from the
bezel-less screen.
Overall, the design of the OnePlus 10 Pro is sleek and
minimalistic. It does not have many features like side buttons or water
resistance like other flagship phones, but it is still aesthetically pleasing.
What Makes the OnePlus 10 Pro Worth
Upgrading?
-The OnePlus 10 Pro is an immersive experience.
-It’s made with Gorilla Glass 6, which makes it more durable
than the 9 Pro.
-It supports wireless charging.
-It has a bigger screen with a 93% screen-to-body ratio.
-It has three rear cameras.
-It has a better battery life.
-It has the latest Android operating system.
-It has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Conclusion
After considering all the factors, my recommendation is to
wait and see what the next OnePlus phone has to offer. If you want a phone that
is nearly identical to this one, I recommend waiting for the OnePlus 11. If you
want the best specs and don’t mind paying a little more, then definitely
upgrade to the 10 Pro. If you’re not interested in the additional features,
such as wireless charging and ips, then it may be worth waiting for a cheaper
model. The OnePlus 10 Pro, however, is the perfect phone for people who want a
high-end phone that has all of the latest features.
