UNVEILING OF THE ONEPLUS NORD 2 WITH DIMENSITY 1200 AI, 50MP CAMERA, AND MORE

After numerous leaks, OnePlus has officially announced the OnePlus Nord 2, the company's first mid-range smartphone. The new smartphone is a significant technological advancement over its predecessor. The camera is much more capable and the processor is much faster. While the display will be similar to that of its predecessor, the device will also include some nice design updates that will bring it closer to the OnePlus 9 series. Without further ado, let's have a look at the OnePlus Nord 2's specifications.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR ONEPLUS NORD 2

The OnePlus Nord 2 features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout in the top-left corner for the front camera. This panel is flat with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer on top. It's HDR10+ certified and features a fingerprint scanner hidden inside. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI SoC. It's worth noting the "AI" in the name; it's a tweaked version of the original chip with improved imaging processing and energy efficiency. This modified version of the chip was created in collaboration with OnePlus and MediaTek.

One ARM Cortex-A78 core running at up to 3GHz, three ARM Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6 GHz, and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz are all included in the Dimensity 1200. A Mali-G78 MC9 GPU assists it. The OnePlus Nord 2 is significantly speedier than its predecessor because to this combination. As a result, OnePlus refers to it as "the king of the OnePlus Nord series." Up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage are available on the device.

DOL-HDR AND OIS ON A 50MP CAMERA

The smartphone sports a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with optical image stabilisation. It also includes Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR), which helps combine exposure data from two photos into a single final shot. The secondary camera is an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and the tertiary sensor is a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The device has a 32 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Two large holes and a smaller hole are provided by the camera square. Its design is similar to that of the OnePlus 9 series.

BATTERY AND POWER

The OnePlus Nord 2 is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that also supports 65 W rapid charging. As a mid-range device, it lacks advanced features such as wireless charging. On the software front, it comes pre-installed with OxygenOS 11, which is based on Android 11. OxygenOS 12 and OxygenOS 13 upgrades will be available for it.

 PRICE & Available

The OnePlus Nord 2 is available in three colours. The basic model costs INR 27,999 ($376) and has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The other option will cost $34,999 ($470) and features 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.

A third option, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, is available for INR 29,999 ($402). Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and a limited-edition Green-Wood are the three colour options for the phone.
